Do you have any make-up tips for my outdoor wedding?

My wedding is next week, and it will be outside in at least 85 degree weather. What kind of makeup would be best for me to use in that kind of heat?Do you have any make-up tips for my outdoor wedding?
I want to be up front, I am a Mary Kay consultant (very part-time) You can find a mary kay rep that will probably be willing to help you for free by putting you zip code in @ www.marykay.com. You can also get help at various make up counters @ major department stores.

These are some notes from make up artist Robert Jones' seminar last October. Hope they help.

from Make-up Artist Robert Jones Workshop in San Diego 10/05

Very few women can wear cool shades of color cosmetics.

Warm makes you look younger.

Everyone can wear warm shades.

You don’t need to wear cool shades with cool color outfit.

Eyeliner – our eyeliners are waterproof

Put powder first before applying eyeliner to avoid eyeliner from running.

Our body heat heats up the pencil and that’s why during the day, it runs.

Use Fig for Violet eye pencil

Use Storm for Charcoal pencil

If you line the bottom, you must line along the top otherwise it will make face drag, tired and old

But, if you line the top, you don’t need to line the bottom.

Eyebrow Pencil

Difference between Classic Blonde and Blonde Eyebrow pencil:

Classic Blonde is lighter than Blonde and warmer color than Blonde

Blonde is darker – Taupe(ier)

You can use matte eye shadow to use as eyebrow powder;

Powder gives more natural effect

Use power on top of pencil – lasts longer and looks more natural

For Silver Hair – use Classic Blonde or Blonde

Brow powder is coming back

Cheek Color

Purpose is to give color and brighten your face

Mistake-proof / Good Cheek Colors: for Ivory / Beige skin = Sunny Spice

For Bronze skin = Brick

Sunny Spice is an improvement of Winter Rose

When selling “Discontinued items”, call it “Limited Edition” to your customers.

Duets – it is just as simple to give 2 shades for the price of 1.

Use each color separately or mix it.

Lip Pencils

Ivory / Beige skin tone – use Neutral or Chocolate

Bronze / Ebony skin tone – Dark Chocolate

Metallic – for Beige and Darker skin tone

Apply around the natural lip line not on the lip line (in other words, apply outside of your natural lip line)

Lipstick

Downtown Brown – made for Bronze / Ebony skin specific

How do you keep lip gloss from transferring to glass or someone else’s lips? Lick it first

Thin lips – use light shade

Big lips – use darker shade

Ivory skin – if you want to look mature, use darker color

Red – never wrong to wear it with red outfit

But, better with black, green, or other dark solid colors

Ivory skin – DO NOT INTENSE Eyes and Lips both. Only one or the other

Concealer

Is to conceal discoloration

The less you use, the less noticeable it is

To conceal Red, Purple, or Brown, use yellow first then other concealer

It is in tube for it is most versatile, moisturizing formula

Stick is hard to blend and wand is too sheer

Dark circles – when using concealer, blend upward, stipple by using fingers or sponge

Broken vein – brush right along vein, stipple

Healed scar has no pores therefore, foundation may not stay on;

Moisturize it

Put powder

Apply concealer with brush (concealer will mix with powder then dries it)

Red and inflamed pimples? If there is no open skin, use Visine to get the red out than apply concealer

Roseasha (spell?) – Cover with layers of foundation using the “0 undertone”

lighten it with yellow 1st

cover each dark spot, go over it again, stipple

Do not use blush!!!

Freckles – Angel Kisses (it’s a good thing) – makes you look younger

Apply foundation sheer layer

Puffiness – Dark cicles

3-step process: 1) Conceal dark circles

2) Take lighter shade of foundation than your everyday foundation

3) Highlight recess area with lighter foundation

In December, we will get highlighters (1, 2, 3, 4) 2 will sell the most

Use this pen on recess area, stipple, done

Line around the upper mouth, stipple, done

Loose Powder

To apply it on top of concealer, use “finger powder technique”

Loose powder is more oil absorbing than pressed powder

Dual Coverage Foundation– Okay for Dry skin (it is better than loose powder)

When used with brush – gives less coverage

When used with sponge – gives more coverage

Perfect for young teen age girls

If Dual-Coverage gets darker later during the day, blot the oil first then powder (it will prevent from shifting) It maybe better to touch up with loose powder. If skin is oily, loose powder is better than Dual-Coverage. You can take it with you in our retractable powder brush and touch up during the day.

Foundation

Most Ivory or Beige skin works well with yellow undertone foundation i.e. ending in 00

Use pink undertone only if neck is pink

Our Med and Full Coverage foundations are “Transfer Resistant” not “Transfer Proof”

Drying time is 2 minutes and 20 seconds

Stripe Test – let it dry first to see if it is the right color

Ivory / Beige skin – stripe test from jaw to neck

Bronze skin – cheek to jar (explain the reason) ?

Our foundation is made layer-able

If you have discoloration, layer your foundation (no matter how many layers, it won’t change color) This is better than using a concealer.

Medium coverage foundation has an oil absolver.

Cream-To-Powder – Convenient

Heaviest

Doesn’t absorb oil

Not good for oily skin

To see the color under true daylight, you may want to purchase “Clamp-On Lamp” at Lamps Plus and get “True Daylight” bulb.

Olive means – good tan color, not green

If you tan easily, use Olive undertone - 02

If pink in the face and neck – use Pink undertone – 04 or 05

To find a true undertone, look at the inside of your arm

If you tan easily – use Olive undertone

If you tan but not easily – use Yellow undertone

If you burn – use Pink undertone

There is a shade match for everyone. Wants and Needs are different

Contour

Ivory skin – contour more than highlight

Beige – contour more

Bronze – highlight more

Ivory / Beige skin tone – use Bronze Sands to contour

Oval shape – You don’t need to highlight or contour

Round face – stays looking younger than other face shape

Eyebrows

Heated wax takes away a layer of your skin

When tweezing eyebrows, pull it in the direction it grows, otherwise it may grow back straight out and will not lay down well

Should be same color as you hair color or a tone lighter

Full eyebrows need just a little fill in, use brow powder

Eyebrow shape

Point A. Hold a pencil vertically against the side of your nose, noticing where it meets the brow. That’s where you brow should begin.

Point B. Hold the pencil against your nostril and move it diagonally across the outer half of the iris of your eye. This is the best place for the peak of your arch.

Point C. Extend it diagonally to the outer corner of your eye. That’s the best place for your brow to end.

Bride Makeup

Morning Bride – Perfect time of the day

not a good time for someone with less than perfect skin tone

should not use purple or blue shade

thick lashes are must

Midday Bride – After 3 p.m.

Sun is directly above her

Deep set eyes will create shadow

Foundation can be dewy

False eye lashes are great option for brides this time of the day

Because of the light, much blending is a must

Late Afternoon Bride – After 4 p.m. (when sun starts to set)

The most beautiful bride

When taking the picture, look toward the light

Dramatic colors are okay

Evening Bride – Can wear as much make up she wants

Shimmering color – OK

Never use frost color in photograph

Only time of the day – can wear smoky eye (when doing so, must wear softer lip color) *** even Bronze skin tone

Tan skin photograph better than pale skin

How do you get your foundation last longer?

Apply moisturizer

Let it dry

Take tissue, blot nose, t-zone, any area that gets shiny

Apply foundation

Powder with loose powder

Matte skin photographs better than shiny skin

How to get eye shadow to last longer?

Eye primer – absolves oil from eye lid

Concealer

Loose powder

eye color

Mascara – Layer with waterproof mascara last – now it’s waterproof

Lipstick – never dark color lipstick unless that’s her everyday color

* * If darker lipstick is used, use softer eye color

Bridesmaids

Intensity must match

Bridesmaid can’t be more made up than the BrideDo you have any make-up tips for my outdoor wedding?
make sure you use waterproof makeup
Well, I'm sure your mom knows all of this, but give these tips a try:

Apply a makeup base to your face before foundation. Sephora has a few excellent ones to try. Use a foundation like Loreal Infallible or Revlon Color Stay. USE POWDER so it keeps it on and keep tissues nearby to gently pat your face if you begin to sweat a bit. Don't run, just blot. Buy the Vitamin E face spritz from the Body Shop and have one of your bridesmaids spritz you once in a while to keep you looking fresh. Congrats! You'll look great!
well jsut don't wear nothin to dark. don't wear a lot of eyeliner and eye shadow. wen its a weeding look bright
Your wedding is next week and you don't already have this figured out? Hire a makeup person, if that's not an option, use bare mineral makeup since it doesn't get nasty in the heat.
try a spf foundation and sweat proof also anf you might try a water proof mascarra
nothing liquid, and use waterproof stuff, just in case.
yes i have some
The powdered mineral makeups hold up well in heat. L'Oreal makes one call Bare Naturale that covers well but still looks very natural.
I've always been fond of stark white foundation accompanied by a shiny red nose and horn to boot.
i heard that u shouldn't use glitter because when u take the photo's it will show up as little white dots. i had an outdoor wedding and it was so damn hot. my make-up was just normal make up and i was OK. don't forget sunblock and congratulations.
youngblood or baremineral because it has a spf in it and it will not run like regular makeup u can find it online and see if there is anywhere avavliable in ur home town. its great makeup and being so hot it will not sweat off. congrats on the wedding and good luck!!!!
prepare for all weather lol
Have a professional do it! One less thing for you to worry about.
